8/1/1950 World Flyweight Championship Poster Dado Marino Terry Allen Honolulu HI
8/1/1950 World Flyweight Championship Poster Dado Marino Terry Allen Honolulu HI. Dado Marino was the winner. Found in a trunk of my father’s boxing memorabilia.
My father, Joseph Nobleza, boxed from age 10 in Wahiawa, HI through 4yrs enlistment in the US Army 1947-1952 at Schofield Barracks. During that time he was All Army Bantamweight and Far East Champion and known in Hawaii as the ”Hawaiian Rainbow”. He fought on the same US Army boxing team as Zorro Foley and Floyd Patterson. My dad also went to the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Trials but sadly lost to Davey Moore - who eventually died in the ring. My dad passed away a few months ago - thought a collector would really appreciate this.
Dimensions: 24” x 18”
Condition: yellowing and flea bit edges, corner pieces missing on left side, one large hole on the right, one small hole on the left, one towards the middle, creasing. All imperfections can be seen in the photos - overall condition is fair to poor - but it’s all there - THIS POSTER IS RARE AND WOULD STILL LOOK GREAT IN A FRAME!!! - $200.00
If you are into Mid Century Boxing memorabilia - you might consider adding this to your collection.
